Mount Zion Christian Baptist Church is pleased to present The Jeanette Petteway Scholarship Fund to qualified Mount Zion CBC high school students.
 
 
“Cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it again” (Ecclesiastes 11:1NIV).
 
The Scholarship Fund was created for the benefit of our college students, to aid them in their educational endeavors. Established by the late Rev. Peter Wilson, Sr. over thirty years ago. He also was one of the founding individuals to help establish a Scholarship Fund at his previous church, Unity Baptist Tabernacle.
 
Every student has a different financial situation and while there are some students whose parents can provide financially for their child’s academic education there are others who may not be and that is one reason why the scholarship fund becomes a blessing to our students and parents.
 
The members of Mt. Zion have always given generously to the scholarship fund, however for the illustrious Sister Jeanette Petteway, the scholarship fund held a special place in her heart. She believed that children were our future, and she was exceptionally dedicated to the children. Therefore because of the genuine love and affection she had for all children, the Mt. Zion Scholarship Fund was named in memory of her.
